7 Mantras for 2012 from Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

1) Reflect on your life in relation to the Cosmos. This will drop the
smallness in you & you will be able to live fully.
2) Remind yourself of the highest goal in Life. You are not here to grumble/
complain. You are here for something bigger.
3) Serve! Engage yourself in community service to whatever extent you can.
4) Have faith & trust that the Divine loves you dearly & is taking care of
you.
5) As we flip the calendar,we need to flip our mind too. Don’t fill future
dates with past events. Learn & move on.
6) Smile more! True sign of prosperity is an unconditional smile on your
face.
7) Nurture yourself with music, prayer & silence. Meditation, pranayam &
yoga rejuvenate; give depth & stability.

Promise – A Poem written by H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankar

If I had to promise you something, what would it be?

I can’t promise that you would always be comfortable…
Because comfort brings boredom and discomfort.

I can’t promise that all your desires will be fulfilled…
Because desires whether fulfilled or unfulfilled bring frustration.

I can’t promise that there will always be good times…
Because it is the tough times that make us appreciate joy.

I can’t promise that we will be rich or famous or powerful…
Because they can all be pathways to misery.

I can’t promise that we will always be together…
Because it is separation that makes togetherness so wonderful.

Yet if you are willing to walk with me,
If you are willing to value love over everything else

I promise that this will be the most rich and fulfilling life possible.
I promise your life will be an eternal celebration,

I promise you I will cherish you more than a king cherishes his crown,
And I shall love you more than  a mother loves her newborn.

If you are willing to walk into my arms,
If you are willing to live in my heart,
You will find the one you have waited forever….
You will meet yourself in my arms…
I promise.

Sutra Subject-The In-between mind

“Confusion, chaos, problems is when mind is “in-between,” when it’s not 100%. When mind is engaged in 100% action, fully into action, then there is Oneness. And it when it is completely free of action—in deep samadhi when even though function is not happening, deep relaxation, then there is Oneness. ”

Sutra Subject- Don’t Ask

Don’t ask anyone if they love you – only fools ask this. Even if someone is angry, he is demonstrating love. Emotions like anger, jealousy, and greed are because of love. Love is our nature. If someone is sleeping, do you ask the person are you sleeping? If you do, then you have already woken them up!

Sutra Subject-Bring the child back

If we understand the rhythm of our breath, we are able to have a say over our mind, we can win over any negative emotions like anger, jealousy, greed, and we are able to smile more from our heart. I think we need to bring the child like beauty and innocence, that God gifted every human being, back into our lives.

Sutra Subject:RadheShyam

Longing and love are two sides of the same coin. You can’t say, ‘I love you but I don’t long for you’. And it is impossible to long for someone without having love. That is why it is said: ‘RadheShyam’. Radha is longing and Sham is love. RadheSham (longing and love) go together in life.
